  Nice package of goodies for the same price as most places charge for just the lens. The lens itself works nicely. Sharpness is better than I'd expect for a lens at this price point. I have all Nikon lens and needed a long lens (over 200mm) for my kids sporting events. I didn't want to spend alot so I took a chance on this Tamron. Even without the vibration reduction at 300mm the outdoor shots are sharp. Low light, not so good. The motor hunts sometimes when lots of targets are at different distances. I'm used to the quickness of Nikon auto focus and this is slower but still very usable in most situations.
  The macro is very good as well. The pix are sharp, edge to edge and color shows little signs of bleed.
  The construction is what would be expected for an inexpensive lens. Although it feels good and handles well, I would be careful to not bump into anything. Switching to manual focus is easy. The zoom is smooth. Getting into and out of macro requires you to take your eye off the subject, look at the lens and line up the limits additionally you don't have full range of the lens in macro. The filter is cheap but functional. It also comes with a lens bag and a nice shade.
  As far as the rest of the package, the lens cleaning kit and protective covers are OK, probable worth a couple bucks. The tripod is a good solid tripod well constructed, again, for the price! If your looking for top quality your going to have to dig deeper in you bank account, otherwise a very good value.

This is a brand new, factory sealed, Variscope Series 8621 microscope. The Variscope microscope family of optical instruments is made by one of the largest "private label" optical component fabricators in the world. Included with the quadruple nosepiece are four achromatic multi-coated objective lenses that display a true-color image. You get 4x, 10x, spring loaded 40x, and spring loaded oil immersion 100x objectives included with this microscope. For viewing, we provide two sets of eyepieces: a pair of premium grade wide-field 10x (18mm) eyepieces and a second set of 20x eyepieces. This allows for magnification ranges of 40x, 80x, 100x, 200x, 400x, 800x, 1000x, and 2000x. Ergonomic features include an advanced Seidentopf-type microscope head to provide maximum comfort in adjusting interpuplillary distance. The microscope head swivels 360 degrees and sits at a 30 degree incline. The eyepieces have diopter focusing adjustments. The independent coarse and fine focusing knobs are on both the right and left side of the instrument. Unlike cheap models with simple slide clips, this microscope has a 115mm x 125mm stage with a fully mechanical X-Y axis slide holder so slides can be moved on the stage with fine precision, no fumbling the slide under clips. There is a graduated scale printed on the slide holder to allow you to maintain a record of the location of various structures on a particular slide. This microscope has a built-in 20 watt halogen bulb, with adjustable intensity light controls. Beware of cheaper models that use a tungsten bulb or have a simple on/off switch with no brightness controls. The microscope has a built-in spiral-type N.A. 1.25 Abbe condenser under the stage with an iris diaphragm. This advanced condenser gives you incredible control over the amount and focal length of light aimed at your specimen and is critical for high-powered magnification viewing. A swing-out filter holder is included as are a set of blue and green viewing filters.

40x-2000x Binocular Biological Compound Microscope Review

We bought the Variscope microscope for use on our ranch. We have some general experience in the use of microscopes and found that the Variscope microscope met, and in many cases, exceeded our expectations. Without getting into a technical review, the overall finish, design, and function of the scope was definitely that of scopes that easily cost 4 times more. We would definitely recommend this scope to anyone needing a compound, binocular scope for general use, or for anyone interested in buying a scope for fun use.

A couple of shortcomings exist with the purchase of the scope, but none of them detract from the quality of the scope itself. First, the instruction sheet supplied with the scope was VERY lacking in information, and almost appeared to have been a literal translation from another language, making it awkward to read at times. The addition of general pointers in the setup and use of the scope and its accessories would be very handy, especially for those who might not have experience with scopes. Having said that, some quick research on the internet yielded much information that helped close the gaps in our knowledge of microscope use, so much so that we found it unecessary to contact the company for further advice. Also of note is that the model number of our scope was found nowhere in the instruction sheet, and the sheet was specific to a scope with magnification up to 1600X, where our scope has a top-end magnification of 2000X. Second, upon receiving our order/shipping confirmation email, we were advised by UPS that the scope would arrive on November 5, but a few days later we received tracking information that stated the scope would arrive on November 8 instead. Not sure why the delivery date was changed, but we have had this issue with UPS before. Even though the shipping issue does not belong to the seller, it was still disappointing to not receive our scope on the original delivery date. Regardless, the scope arrived well-packaged and in great shape.

This is a great scope that will offer us years of trusted use, and we look forward to really putting through its paces!

Spectrum Home Theater's Rj-11 Review

I purchased this system just a month ago and it out performs the Sony system that I had. It wours well with my TV and Blue-Ray.
