My phone prior to this one is a Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830. It was okay but I wasn't thrilled with it mainly because I have long fingernails and keying anything on that phone was very difficult. BTW, please don't suggest I cut them, it's not going to happen. :-) I did some research and found that this phone had a resistance screen which I could use with my nails, so I bought it. I love this little phone, it is smaller than my other phone and fits in my hand better, and in my purse better, and no problems with my nails. However, (you knew that was coming, didn't you?), I live on the beach in Costa Rica surrounded by a lot of jungle and the signal strength here leaves a lot to be desired. My other phone, the GT-S5830, picked up the signal in most rooms in my house and I could make and receive calls in two rooms in my house, which is sufficient for my needs. This new little phone will not pick up a signal unless I walk 400 feet from my house out to the beach, not something you want to do late at night or during our tropical rains. Since I am trying to sell my house and move back to the states, I will keep the phone and save it for when I do move back to the states where the signal strength should be more stable.

If you have long nails and decent signal strength in your area, then I think you would like this phone. I think it is a very good value for the price. But if your signal strength is unstable then I suggest you look for a different phone but plan on paying considerably more.
