First off, getting a 23" and 47" slider in one package is very nice. I find that this gives you options when dealing with space. As for the motion of sliding, it's not bad. You have to keep this out of any condition that might cause the track to become nicked or damaged; that will the sliding motion to suck I am sure. I did read a previous review and someone mention that they used sliding glass door grease to lube the track; I actually went and bought some liquid silicone lube just to be safe. Why silicone? Because of the plastic inserts that is on the base plate that actually does the sliding when on the rail. Silicone, I thought would work the best; plastic on metal solution. I will update this review when and if I need to use it.

The only and I mean only down side to this is the friction noise you hear; depending on your camera's mic setup, you will hear this high-pitch noise if using your built-in mic. But if you are using another mic that is not attached to this when using then you will not have a problem. One other little thing that bugs me is the angle the head end sup sitting at when attached to the base; it can be off degree pending on your angle of your shot. You might have to tweak and losen the head or even better re postion you camera on the head to get your angle you want.

I would have given this a 5 star but the friction noise can be a major let down for those wanting to record sound when using this. But luckily for me I am not recording sound from my camera mic.
