Primos Hunting Super Model II Trail Camera Review

I own 3 of the Super Model II cameras and 1 Super Model camera. I've been using the 3 super model II cameras for over a year now and feel confident I can give accurate review. I'm only giving this two stars because the Super Modell II is a battery hog and too sensitive. The Super Model II takes 8 double A batteries and you'll be lucky to get 2 days on those 8 batteries. Even with the Primos 6V Steroid Battery pack I was only able to get 5 days on that. Why does it suck so much battery juice you may ask. Well, that's because it is very sensitive to any movement. Shadows, branches and grass blowing in the wind, sunlight, a nat taking a crap on a branch 30 feet away. you'll get all this and more if you go with this camera. Forget about setting this unit to take more than one shot at a time. You'll end up with thousands of pictures of nothing. Why is it so sensitive? Good question! The original Super model has a feature that lets you adjust the sensitivity. This model dosen't. Which kind of sucks, especially since the instruction manual that comes with it says it does! WTF Primos!! The Super Model II does have a light sensitivity feature which you'll want to leave on. otherwise the thing will just sit there and take pictures all day long and your batteries will be dead before night fall. The worst part is at night, because it's so sensitive, it takes too many shots and because it's an infrared unit, it flahes red all night long! Which is the worst case senerio, becasue it spooks game. So you have to move them every couple of days to boot or the big bucks will spook and avoid the area! It's too bad too, because the Super Model II does take great, clear pictures, both day and night, hardly ever any blanks, has a wide screen and the viewer on back (which is useless when you have thousands of pics to review). It works well, even in the bitter cold of Minnesota the unit still functioned, and is easy to use and set up. However, do to the sensitivty issue and the battery life problem and the cost, I would recommend going with another unit!
