I gave it 4 stars because it works well and does the job I wanted. I had difficulty setting it up, it is important to read the directions first, which I did. I finally contacted Shield Tech who where most willing to work with me. We walked through the set-up together and found out that one sensor was defective which they replaced. The system is running and works well. There is still one problem I have not been able to solve, the phone connection. I have my phone through the internet (Comcast). With the system plugged in the house phone does not ring and goes directly to the answering machine. Not a problem when on a trip but not good for daily use. Still looking for a solution. Overall a great alternative to costly programs.
